Ground-Level Landscape and Greenbelt Integration
Redefining the Urban-Nature Interface
This human-centered landscape design reconfigures the relationship between architecture and the city. Perimeter setbacks create generous pedestrian paths and green buffers, while a prominent corner retreat forms a layered “Green Corner Commons” with canopy trees, seating, and planting—enhancing microclimate, urban porosity, and street-level vitality.
Aligned with the UN SDGs, the design employs low-carbon materials, native species, and high green coverage to boost carbon sequestration and biodiversity. Permeable surfaces and stormwater retention systems enhance climate resilience, positioning landscape as vital green infrastructure rather than surface treatment.
Drawing from Tianmu’s natural terrain and Huangxi Stream ecology, the spatial composition integrates water elements and multi-layered planting to create a forest-like, therapeutic environment—embedding sustainability into the everyday urban experience.
