In the rapid pulse of Shanghai’s urban renewal, MOOOMA Design presents a refreshing departure from the "demonstrative" luxury common in modern residences. Located near the vibrant Qiantan Taikooli, the CR Land FEYUN Mansion project rejects the urge to define life through rigid functions, choosing instead to let space unfold through the rhythm of daily rituals.
The design philosophy is rooted in the French concept of Art de Vivre, as interpreted by Christian Liaigre—where luxury is not found in opulence, but in the tactile reality of materials and the natural flow of light. MOOOMA’s approach was one of "retrieval" rather than addition: retrieving excessive emotions and superfluous forms to create a space that breathes. This aligns with the Eastern aesthetic of "subtlety," where the most essential elements remain understated.
Across the 157-square-meter stack villa, the design ensures that "space retreats so that life can stand at the front." The living area acts as a quiet backdrop for conversation; the kitchen embraces the beauty of usage marks rather than sterile perfection; and the multifunctional room serves as a non-prescriptive sanctuary that allows for idleness. In the private quarters, the design transitions into a stable internal structure—low-saturation palettes and tactile-first materials provide a reliable anchor for the soul. This project is not a finished monument upon delivery; it is a meticulously crafted framework designed to be overtaken by time, eventually filled by the evolving textures of the residents' lives.
