SILO NORD: Adaptive Reuse for Sustainable Hospitality

SILO NORD is a visionary hospitality and research destination transforming historic silos along the Erie Canal waterfront into a sustainable mixed-use development. The project features a pioneering eco-hotel, an Indoor Forest Museum, and an Algae-Based Biofuel Research Facility, blending luxury with environmental innovation.

At its core, the sustainable hotel redefines eco-conscious hospitality, offering nature-integrated accommodations for environmental travelers, researchers, and conference attendees. The Forest Museum is an interactive hub for sustainability education, while the biofuel research center explores algae-based renewable energy solutions.

SILO NORD revitalizes the Erie Canal’s industrial past, creating an iconic eco-tourism landmark that merges adaptive reuse with forward-thinking environmental solutions.
