Slap&Pop

The project is conceived and operated by a group of creators passionate about music and performing arts, including a director, dancer, musician, and chef. The design concept grew from their shared memories of dancing and making music together, and from their fondness for the aesthetics of the 1970s and 1980s. The name “Limited Seats” was chosen as a playful, personality-filled title—symbolizing the precious and finite nature of their friendship, time, and creative energy. The designer infused the space with sunset-inspired orange tones and musical culture elements, creating a performance-driven bar that serves both as a business venue and as a gathering place for friends.

The most iconic feature of the space is the “infinite reflection record wall” at the entrance. Constructed with mirrored surfaces, it stretches like a tunnel of music—expanding memories and imagination while setting the stage for arrival. It serves as both a popular photo backdrop and a visual prologue for the bar experience. Inside, diagonal motifs run through the ceiling lightboxes, bar counter trim, and herringbone flooring, breaking the monotony of the basement’s rectangular footprint and injecting rhythm and movement into the design.

To meet the owners’ varied needs, the space includes a DJ booth and performance area for live shows with musicians and dancers on weekends. At the opposite end, a smoking area is equipped with a dedicated exhaust system, allowing guests to mingle comfortably. Lighting design favors indirect illumination, blending LED strips, backlit counters, and under-seat lighting to avoid overhead glare. The result is a warm, hazy atmosphere that enhances both the bar’s emotional layers and its theatrical quality.
