Located in Liuding Mountain, Dunhua, "Yujian Xiao Yuan" (meaning "Meeting the Bamboo Courtyard in Healing") takes healing as its core. With a posture of "taking root in the land", it turns natural textures into the spatial background, makes local culture a spiritual support, and builds a place for the soul to rest through spatial narration.



Human and Nature: Architecture is an organic extension of nature

Taking the mountain shape as the outline, the brick red color and wood-form concrete make the building part of the texture of the mountains, forests and villages. The lighting design is ingenious: the entrance hall follows the rhythm of "first restraining then unfolding", the meditation room has a skylight to focus natural light, and there is a "Buddha's light path" on the Winter Solstice. Plantation and forest hiking allow visitors to actively participate in natural healing.



Human and Culture: Culture is the spiritual translation of the countryside

The layout of local volcanic rocks and "cold black soil" combined with the northern quadrangle courtyard continues the local warmth. Buddhist culture deepens healing through meditation and the ritual of copying scriptures, which implicitly accords with the philosophy of Zen Forest Precepts. Linking agriculture with cultural tourism helps rural revitaliza-tion and rebuilds the rhythm of "slow life".

The quadrangle courtyard creates a daily life where people and scenery blend. The corridor guides people to be aware while walking. The plain environment (such as dry landscape gardens and linen materials) builds a peaceful atmosphere.
